62nd New Zealand Entomological Society Conference, 3–5 April 2013, Massey University, Palmerston North

Registration and abstract submission is now open for the 62nd New Zealand Entomological Society Conference, being held at Massey University, Palmerston North, 3–5 April 2013. The theme for this year’s conference is “If it weren’t for your gumboots, where would weta be?” and will feature a workshop discussion on “Critical issues facing New Zealand entomology”.

Conference fees are $350 ($420 after 8 March 2013), or $250 for students. Abstract submission closes 15 March 2013.

Butterflies Conference, 16–17 March 2013, UniTec, Auckland

The Monarch Butterfly New Zealand Trust’s aim is to help with the protection and conservation of New Zealand’s butterflies and moths and habitat.

The annual conference of the Monarch Butterfly New Zealand Trust will be held at Unitec, Mt Albert, Auckland over the weekend of 16 and 17 March 2013. The conference will feature great speakers who will share practical ideas to assist with butterfly garden design and habitat planting for New Zealand’s butterflies and moths, as well as projects to enhance the understanding of metamorphosis and ecology and biodiversity in schools.

The AGM of the trust will take place during the weekend, where we will be changing our name to the Moths and Butterflies of New Zealand Trust (same acronym).

Registration: $140 per person, closes 28 February 2013
Late Registration (if space allows): $160 per person
