Spiders of New Zealand award
A $150 prize for the best student talk on spiders will be on offer. This prize comes from the authors’ share of the profits from sales of the book Spiders of New Zealand by Pierre Paquin, Cor Vink and Nadine Dupérré. The talk must focus on spiders in order to be considered. Talks that simply include spiders will not be considered. Also, the judging panel reserves the right not to award the prize if no talks are up to the required standard.
Criteria
The oral presentation and poster awards are open to New Zealand students.
For the purposes of the awards, a student is defined as someone currently enrolled at a tertiary education institution or within one year of having completed tertiary studies and presenting on work arising from that course. Entrants must indicate their eligibility for the awards on the abstract submission form on the conference website.
Conference Bursaries
Financial assistance to attend to the conference is offered through the K.J. Fox Awards. Eligible members are encouraged to apply. These awards are available to students, enthusiasts, and retired entomologists. They are not available for professionally employed scientists.
